The Smeg CMS45X is an integrated machine, so you’ll save on countertop space, the CMS45X has a drip tray and removable water reservoir so spillages will be minimised and you can keep this machine clean with minimal effort since it has an auto rinse application, a quick wipe over the front facing surface of the Smeg CMS45X will keep it looking brand new.
The distinguishing features between the Smeg CMS45X and the CMS45 is the additional bean grinder and milk steamer, these features are useful additions if you specifically enjoy a cappuccino or wish to keep freshly ground beans in your machine, other than that there is little difference. The additional cost covers more than a separate aeroccino so you want to consider just buying the milk steamer and frother individually.
The programmable features and the fact that the CMS45X is pretty much an all inclusive coffee machine, makes this a great machine. it has all the necessaries you could ever need, apart from a cup warmer which frankly is an unnecessary extravagance since you can monitor and change the temperature of your drink digitally.
