Miele CM5100 Barista is a freestanding machine that comes equipped with precision engineered technology. You control grind coarseness, temperature, strength and portion size using adjustable controls.
There’s an adjustable milk attachment that will provide you with hot frothy milk at the push of a button and the cup warmer on top makes those cold ceramic mugs a thing of the past – if you ever actually use it that is.

The only drawbacks that we can see are the small plastic tube for the milk – which just looks like it’ll age quickly, and the fact that it will require daily cleaning, unlike some less expensive machines.
Price is of course a factor and at more than £1000 the Miele CM5100 Barista is only going appeal to the serious coffee drinkers – so what’s the coffee like?
Well we’re pleased to tell you that the Miele CM5100 Barista makes a really smooth and creamy espresso that is every bit as good as anything you would expect to pay for in a top quality coffee shop.
The dual action spout will allow you to make two perfect espressos simultaneously and the lattes are a treat. You can store up to 250g of unground coffee beans in the machine itself, and there’s no need to use a handle as all the grinding is done internally.
The Miele CM5100 Barista comes with a removable 1.8 litre integrated water container. All other working parts of the machine also detach for simple access and cleaning. Miele states that this machine, along with all its other products, will stand the test of time for up to 20 years.
The Miele CM5100 Barista is a high quality, well designed and exceptionally well built coffee machine that makes a great espresso. While the cost represents a considerable investment, the build quality and Miele’s assertion that you should get up to 20 years of functionality means that it really works out being quite cost effective in the long run. This is a great coffee machine for the discerning coffee drinker; it’ll certainly induce espresso envy amongst your coffee drinking circle.
