"The AEG PE3810M, with its futuristic, minimalist design, looks more like a piece of industrial equipment than a coffee maker"
Matthias Scherer
Let’s be straight here: the AEG PE3810M Integrated Coffee Machine won’t fit into every kitchen. It is fairly large and, with its futuristic, minimalist design, looks more like a piece of industrial equipment than a coffee maker. For those who don’t want to compromise when it comes to the taste of their brew and have a big enough budget – not to mention space in their kitchen. Nevertheless we find the AEG PE3810M a very good option.
There are no unneccessary protusions (e.g. big buttons or handles) marring this coffee machine’s exterior. Flat and shiny like a robot baby’s bottom, it should stay that way too, thanks to the anti-finger print stainless steel finish.
The AEG PE3810M holds less water in its tank (1.8l) than the slightly smaller AEG PE8039M coffee maker (2.5l), but has a much stronger pressure pump (16 as opposed to 12 bar), which comes into play especially when making espressos – these taste delicious when made with the AEG PE8039M’s in-built bean grinder.
There’s an adjustable dispenser for cups and mugs of different sizes, and a multi-cup option that lets the user make up to six cups of coffee in one process: perfect for meetings or gatherings.
The machine is controlled via a collection of subtle touch controls above the liquid dispenser, and LEDs provide light as well as reliable indicators of status, temperature, water and waste levels.
For those who like the odd cappuccino or hot chocolate, the AEG PE3810M comes prepared – it features a steam arm for frothing.
This mammoth of a coffee machine is very expensive but we’d wager it’s worth the money – functionality is impressive, the design stylish but conducive to simple use, and the coffee is great. There are plenty of smaller (albeit slower and less punchy) coffee machines out there than the AEG PE3810M integrated coffee maker that also make good coffee for a fraction of the cost, but these don’t have the reliable AEG technology and the luxury design. If you’re prepared for these two features, the AEG PE3810M is a machine to consider.

The AEG PE3810M Integrated Coffee Machine would fit into the board kitchen of a spaceship – but it also makes for a powerful and super-stylish option for spacious kitchens here on earth, providing their owners are prepared to fork out a few extra pounds. This isn’t a cheap, low-key coffee machine but a colossus of the kitchen, able to prepare sumptuous hot java for as many as six people in one go. AEG PE3810M Integrated Coffee Machine’s exterior is minimalistic and glossy, but not to the point that it interferes with the user-friendliness.
AEG PE3810M Integrated Coffee Machine
