About Dualit...

About Dualit...

German-born, British entrepreneur Max Gort-Barten CBE, set up a small factory in Camberwell after he served during the Second World War. He sought to use his engineering skills to manufacture products, such as the Dual-Light electric fire, from which Dualit took its name.

Max focused his attention on the consumer market and designed appliance such as the six-slice toaster. Over the next twenty years the company grew and started to develop other products such as coffee machines.

After Max passed away, his son Leslie took the wheel in running one of only a handful of successful independently-owned British manufacturers.
